Began a gorgeous morning with breakfast and episodes of Be Cool, Scooby Doo. Skipped the Christmas episode in favor of "If You Can't Scooby Doo the Time, Don't Scooby Doo the Crime." The kids find themselves at an old prison that's haunted by a prisoner who died trying to escape...but Velma believes he may not be as gone as everyone thinks..
"Gremlins on a Plane" is likely a parody of Snakes on a Plane, as well as Airport and other disaster movies that revolve around travel. Mystery Inc has been invited on the maiden voyage of the Air Gigantica, the largest and most luxurious plane in the world. Things head south almost immediately, thanks to a gremlin that's sabotaging the plane. While the others try to figure out what he really wants, Daphne takes over for the heights-phobic pilot.
Work was pretty quiet for most of my eight and a half hour shift. For one thing, a lot of people may be waiting for the weekend to do their Mother's Day shopping. For another, the weather today couldn't have been more perfect - upper 70's, breezy, and dry. This was no day to be in a grocery store. While I did get stuck in the register briefly around 3 and I spent a lot of the morning trying to do six different things at once, the rest of the day was no problem. I shelved loose items, organized candy, gathered carts, and cleaned the bathrooms.
As soon as I got home, I made hummus to spread on a wrap for a quick dinner. Watched more Scooby Doo as I ate. Shaggy and Scooby find themselves in a "Sorcerer Snacks Scare" when a sorcerer who doesn't like that the company switched from a puppet to an animated mascot threatens to shut the factory down. Fred figures out that Scooby and Shaggy will do anything for the treats and keeps using them to get the duo to look for clues.
"Saga of the Swamp Beast" takes the gang to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. While Daphne dresses as a vampire to get into the Big Easy's Gothic vibe, the others investigate the story of a swamp monster who has taken residence in the bayou.
Started "Be Cold, Scooby Doo" after getting out of the shower. Mystery Inc is on a snowboarding vacation to a local ski lodge when they have a close encounter with a nasty snowman with some serious shredding moves! Velma translates the snowboarders as Daphne continues a snowball fight she and Fred had three years ago.
Finished out the night and the disc with a few "Giant Problems." A giant cyclops is terrorizing a castle that belongs to Daphne's family. Mystery Inc is on the case...but Fred insists on wearing armor to stay in character, and Daphne's sudden Irish accent annoys the heck out of Velma. Meanwhile, Shaggy and Scooby discover that there's some food even they won't eat when a local restaurateur tries to force them to eat his strange vittles.
