I was really late getting moving, and late calling Uber...and of course, they took 12 minutes to arrive. Which meant yes, I was late to work. Ironically, I got the one going home in 4 minutes. No trouble either way once they did arrive, no traffic either time.
My 8 1/2 hour day was a bit of a pain. We were busy for most of the day, and I had no help gathering carts or the trash. I never did get to the trash. I was so behind on the carts, they pulled a bagger to help me with them around 2 PM. Though it was cloudy, hot, and murderously humid all day, it only showered once, briefly, when I was at work.
Got my schedule at work. (For some reason, the schedule website is only working on mobile phones, not on regular computers and laptops.) In good news, more hours. In bad news, four days in a row, three of which are weekdays, which means I'll have to rush between jobs and likely won't have the time for much of anything. And I work early next Saturday, which means no farm market again.
Went straight into dinner and tonight's Match Game marathon when I got in. Match Game Productions honored the 50th anniversary of the nighttime show's debut with some of its biggest winners. There was the Air Force officer who won by the skin of his teeth in 1977, and the handsome Naval officer who got Betty White in the Head-to-Head for "Olympia __" in 1980. Also in 1980, we had the charming man who wrote cookbooks with his wife and answered "Code of __" with "Code Of Arms," prompting Charles to create a "code of arms" for him. Bill Daily was excited to get "kissed by a man" after he won him $20,000 in 1979, but the guy really had his eye on Patty Duke. Richard gave a lady who asked for kisses for her and her family four for each...and then one more big one for winning!
Buzzr unearthed a very funny episode with Eva Gabor and Bill Anderson in 2021 that had been lost for years. Gene teased an Asian gentleman about his affiliations during World War II, which may explain the show's disappearance. (At least the guy took it really well.) Brett was more interested in fluttering fans and trying to look ladylike.
Celebrate 50 years of nighttime winners in this delightful marathon!
Stayed at YouTube to finish the night with the 1967 TV version of Aladdin. I go into the Prince Street Players' version of the Arabian Nights story at my Musical Dreams Movie Reviews blog.
Oh, and I finally finished posting Hilary and the Beasts, which is now available in full at my Writer's Desk at the Riverside blog.
