That was just about the last thing that went right all day. I was late getting out. I probably should have taken Uber, but first of all, I'm going to have to take Uber tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be terrible. Second, I thought it would be faster to take my bike. It wasn't. I was just barely late.
Not a good thing, since we were busy all day. I spent the whole day trying to keep up with the carts and doing badly at it. One of the managers were nice enough to put away some cold items, but I still had to do a big cart that put me even further behind on the carts and sweeping the store. It would rain off and on starting around noon, and I couldn't find an Acme-branded rain coat in the back that fit me, so I got wet.
Though thankfully it wasn't raining when I got home, I still had trouble. I was so tired and frustrated when I rode home, I wasn't thinking when I crossed the White Horse Pike. Though the light said to cross, a car still almost ran over me turning in my direction. I was so upset and shaken, I rode home in angry, frustrated tears.
Took a shower, had a quick dinner, then spent the rest of the night watching tonight's Match Game marathon. Dr. Joyce Brothers would appear to be one of the least-likely panelists on the show, but she actually goes far back with game shows. She won the money to start her practice as a boxing trivia enthusiast on The $64,000 Question in the 50's. By the time she made her first appearance in 1974, she was well-established both as a psychiatrist and as a personality on TV and game shows. Her "evaluating" the panel tended to come in for a lot of jokes, as did whenever she made an especially strange answer that may have needed a little evaluating on its own.
She was there for the first weeks featuring neighbors, friends, and big winners Janet Finn in 1974 and Carol Bartos a year later. She joined the others in eagerly throwing shade at the show itself when asked what they'd show to prisoners as torture. There was also the sweet young contestant who took so long figuring out an answer for one question, Gene ended up sitting down on the floor in front of her desk,
The doctor's in for laughs in this hilarious marathon!
Oh, and here's my review for Once Upon a Forest, which I watched yesterday.
