Harts In Springtime

Got a quick start this morning with breakfast and Charlie and Lola. Charlie knows his parents are taking him somewhere special for his birthday. So does Lola, but Charlie reminds her that "It's a Secret" and he wants to be surprised. At least until they're on their way there, and Charlie keeps asking his sister for hints...

Rushed out the door after that. I got to work just in time...which proved to be a moot point anyway. Except for a half-hour in the morning when we were busy and didn't have enough help, I bagged almost the entire day. I had to push carts, gather trash, shelve loose items, sweep the store every hour on the hour, and teach a new bagger where everything is and how to sweep and push carts. They give detailed instructions to the new cashiers, but no one tells new baggers how to do anything.

Oh, and they're still remodeling too, and will be for at least the next two months. Turns out the floral department and customer service aren't the only departments seeing upgrades. I'm all for them redoing our bathrooms, even if we can't use them for a day or two, but I don't understand why they're remodeling the bakery. The bakery just had a major remodel back in 2017. Looks like they're going to paint the outside of the store, too.

At least it was a fairly nice day to be outside. Though it was cloudy and windy, it was also warm for April, in the upper 60's-lower 70's. It was a pleasure to be outside, when I could get there.

Rushed out the door as soon as I could get away with it. Went straight into dinner and Spring Parade when I got in. I go further into this charming Viennese operetta featuring Deanna Durbin at my Musical Dreams Movie Reviews blog.

Finished the night on The Roku Channel with the second season Hart to Hart episode "Solid Gold Murder." Max is proud of his celebrity bodybuilder nephew Vince, who is about to open his own gym in Los Angeles. Max is equally fond of his signature red barbells...until someone tries to steal them twice. Max gets beaten to a pulp during the first attempt. The second leaves a Scotland Yard detective dead, muttering the name of a famous gold thief. Jonathan sets a trap for the devious gold lover to catch him at his own game.
