First of all, here's the review for Riverdance: The Animated Adventure that I watched yesterday in honor of St. Patrick's Day weekend.
Thankfully, that was the worst thing that happened all day. I spent the rest of the morning and afternoon sweeping the store and pushing carts. We were busy, but not really overwhelming except for during lunch hour. By the time it started to pick up again around 3, the afternoon bagger had arrived and taken over the sweeping. I was in and out with no trouble whatsoever. The cloudy, cool, windy weather may have scared some people off, or they were celebrating St. Patrick's Day weekend elsewhere.
I changed, then went out to wait for Jessa. She picked me up around 4:15. We were going to hit the Moorestown Mall area, but Jess got lost. She drove around Cherry Hill, Marlton, and Moorestown for almost an hour before we finally turning off at the right exit. At least the traffic wasn't bad, and I got to see more of Cherry Hill and Marlton than I could on my own.
Since it was past 5 when we got there, we started with dinner at Cava. Jessa said she'd often passed there while doing deliveries and stopped for lunch. They're basically the same as Chipolte, with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern ingredients and pita bread replacing Mexican ingredients and tortillas. They make everything in-house, even their own soda and lemonade. Jess and I both went for bowls. She went vegetarian with crunchy Super greens and falafel. I had grilled chicken with brown rice and mixed greens. Oh, yum! It was so tasty, and the Pineapple-Apple-Mint and Cucumber-Mint-Lime juices were even better.
Stopped at their big Barnes and Noble next. Jess didn't get anything, but I found three mysteries, one from a series I just bought and wanted more of:
Murder at an Irish Wedding - Carlene O'Connor
Last Licks - Cynthia Baxter
Egg Drop Dead - Vivien Chien
We didn't have nearly as much luck in the Moorestown Mall proper. Though it's in better shape than the largely abandoned Voorhees Town Center, it's still dying. There's too many malls around here. That wonderful little FYE I picked up two DVDs from in August was gone. I did consider buying a comforter set from Boscov's. but I couldn't find one that came with the sheets and not just decorative pillows and pillowcases. I was hoping I'd find something on the other side of the mall in HomeSense, but none of theirs came in Twin sizes.
Ran into tables showcasing collectors' items as we came in past the Regal Theater 12. They were mostly selling toys, comic books, and various cards, but I did see two bins of records. Alas, they were too expensive. We just moved on.
After Jessa dropped me off, I took a shower, then spent the rest of the night watching today's Match Game marathon. Lots of people brought items for good luck or that they considered lucky. One woman brought Richard Dawson a pet rock. Another brought a tiny bear in a cage. There were jokes about lots of luck or good luck. Melody Scott-Thomas wore a rather goofy fan hat that she walked up and down to make work. Ron Valenti considered Fannie Flagg, and then Betty White (both of whom had crushes on him) to be his good luck charms. A young woman got lucky and barely beat an older Asian veteran in a rare PM episode from 1977. Many a young lady gave Richard (or even Charles!) kisses for luck.
Have good luck this St. Patrick's Day weekend with this delightful marathon!
