End of Summer Matches

Began the morning with breakfast and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. "Mickey's Treat" is a big Halloween party at Pete's Trick-or-Treat Tower. Mickey and the gang have to get there before the moon is full, or the gates will lock! They have to get over giant candy corns and around hopping frogs to get to the Tower.

Called Uber after the cartoon ended. I was working 8 hours today. I was not going to be up for a bike ride. The one in the morning arrived in 7 minutes. I had slightly more trouble getting one going home at rush hour, but they did come in 10 minutes. No traffic or trouble either way, and I got to work in plenty of time.

I am so tired. Other than the 20 minutes I spent putting cold items away this morning, I swept the store and pushed carts for the entire rest of the day. They were so busy, the head bagger ended up in a register, and they pulled another college-boy cashier to help me with the carts! After he left at 4:30, I had more trouble keeping up with them. I'd only just gotten about half of them done when I finally finished at 5:30.

Once I got home, I went straight into a much-needed shower, then made dinner. Finished up with tonight's YouTube Match Game marathon. Some memorable episodes took place after Match Game returned from a summer break or extended hiatus. One of my favorites was Richard Dawson and Gene Rayburn playing tic-tac-toe on the shoulder of an unamused Marcia Wallace after she accidentally got marker on her bare shoulder. There was also the Monday episode from 1975 when Gene not only got to kiss female newcomer Jamie Lynn Bower, Brett happily smooched Robert Urich, too. There was also the PM episode where one of the contestants was a very blase young man who didn't like his life, didn't seem to enjoy playing the game much, and was cheerfully honest about all of it.

Let's end the summer season with hilarious hi-jinks featuring Gene and his wacky weirdos!
