Big Woman On Walnut Street
Finally made a second job-related Philadelphia trip after doing some chores in the morning. Not quite as much luck job-wise this time. I still couldn't flag down a customer service person at Borders, Barnes and Noble said "Come back in May when the college students leave," and the little used book-and-record store on 10th street was run by a middle-aged couple who needed no help.
Did make some nice finds at the record store, though - a Jeanette MacDonald/Nelson Eddy record from the 70s (including some of their solo stuff), the original cast of the 1979 Broadway musical "They're Playing Our Song," Billy Joel's "The Bridge," and the 1986 Rhino Records re-release of "The Monkees Headquarters." Also found a lovely little pizzaria on Chestnut Street and slid into the place just in time for some great veggie pizza before they closed. : 0 )
